The system uses a multi-protocol toll transponder that provides motorists with access to toll roads throughout the U.S. Simply register your ITM to begin enjoying convenient, reliable access to toll roads across the country.
ITM is a nationwide toll collection technology for factory integration into new vehicles. The system uses a multi-protocol toll transponder that provides motorists with access to toll roads throughout the U.S. ITM eliminates the need to affix multiple toll tags on the windshield, which not only detracts from the vehicle’s appearance but also can potentially obstruct the driver’s forward vision.
Currently, ITM is not being sold independently. The system is available for factory integration into new vehicles. Continue to check back for updates as more vehicles become ITM compatible.
ITM national toll service, powered by Payviam, is $20.00 per year, and single zone coverage, also powered by Payviam, is $10.00 per year. The service charge, along with incurred tolls, will be withdrawn from your account, which is initially funded with a $25.00 deposit. Single zone coverage is subject to a one-time $5.00 activation fee, while the activation fee for national coverage is waived.
For drivers, it’s an added layer of convenience, aesthetics, and performance. The integrated tolling solution gives convenient and reliable access to the country’s toll roads while eliminating toll-tag windscreen clutter and the need to manage multiple toll accounts.
During the ITM registration process, you can select where you would like tolling coverage throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada. In the U.S., you can choose between national and single-zone coverage. National coverage includes every major U.S. toll road. Single-zone coverage is categorized into Central, East, South, and West zones. See the coverage map to identify toll roads that are covered within the Payviam™ coast-to-coast network.
ITM is currently only compatible in North America.
During the registration process, you will need to provide your name, contact information, vehicle information (license plate), ITM ID and credit card information. Your information is only used to register your ITM with your service provider (Payviam™) and is not stored or used by Gentex.
If the ITM device is not read, which can happen for many reasons such as weather and speed, most tolling authorities will assess toll charges using your license plate. If your license plate number is not attached to your ITM account in the Payviam™ system, then you will likely receive a violation directly from the tolling authority by mail.
Your ITM ID is a unique identification number that assists in setting up your ITM. For help with finding your ITM ID, select your vehicle make from the homepage. It will direct you to your OEM landing page that contains detailed videos and instructions to help you find your ITM ID.
ITM is available for factory integration into new vehicles. Check back for updates as more vehicles become ITM compatible.
ITM is intended to be used in place of your toll transponder. If you would like to only use your transponder, you can turn ITM off.
Be sure to either cancel or update any existing accounts with tolling authorities and return any unused or redundant transponders. If you have other vehicles on the account, you can keep the account open, but be sure to remove your ITM-equipped vehicle. This will prevent any double billing scenarios or other potential issues related to having a single vehicle on multiple accounts.
